Come sailing aboard the Wonder - Detroit’s Pirate Ship !

See the Detroit skyline at sunset, sail past Belle Isle park, and experience Detroit’s namesake river in breathtaking fashion. Wonder is a 82’ pirate schooner converted into an oceanographic exploration vessel. We combine learning with the beauty of nature in 2 hour sails.You can help haul on sails or even steer the boat if you want to. Or just sit back, relax, and take it all in.

OLOKUN

OLOKUN is a totally restored 1974 C&C 27.5ft. She has been giving tours for the past three years with Detroit Sails. We have several different Licensed Captains to make available more trips for you. She is a DNR Inspected and Certified Vessel and has been sailing in the Great Lakes for her whole life.

Olokun is revered as one of the most commanding Orishas in Yoruba religion. She is androgynous Orisha that can take on any form. Olokun is the guardian of the deepest depths of the sea and the owner of the oceans and all the riches that they possess. The deep sea is OLOKUN’s kingdom and she resides there happily.

DREAMCATCHER

Dreamcathcer is an Island Packet 31 Cutter Rig with an overall length of 34’ and is a DNR Inspected and Certified Vessel. She was built in 1988 in Largo, FL. This boat is a very sturdy, sea-kindly boat with high quality finishes including teak throughout the interior and exterior. She has wide hips making her spacious and steady providing the utmost comfort while sailing. Her 4’ keel allows her to take you into to shallow areas close to shore while enjoying luxury on the water.

We had an amazing time!! Captain Cam was terrific! He's excellent, safe and very fun!! The sail on the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair was beautiful!!

We had a wonderful time sailing and celebrating our anniversary with our friends on the Dream Catcher. Captain Kristian was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the area and history. We loved the gorgeous views and the lovely sunset. We highly recommend this trip and look forward to returning!

We had the BEST sailing experience ever!! Captain Ann made our time incredible. She was very experienced and taught us a lot! She also took us to see the sailboat races. We had such a relaxing and fun night. Highly recommend the sunset sail!

Had family in town from NY and decided to go sailing. Called to reserve a time and day. The day and time I was looking for was booked. Ann made some calls and got Kristian same day to give us a tour at 7pm the time I wanted. Kristian was wonderful and knowledgeable of the area and made our sailing a great time. Very relaxing and a beautiful sunset. Will definitely do it again!

Detroit sails was awesome, I’d most definitely boat with them again. The pictures speak for themselves and on how much of a blast I had. Chris, Shae and the captain were all great. Friendly, great communication, and nice people. Was such a joy. Easy to locate which was a plus to me.

Captain Kristian has a great personality and is full of interesting facts about the area, but also his knowledge of sailing. My wife and I were first time sailors and we were comfortable and satisfied with the entire experience. This will certainly not be our last go at sailing.

I had the pleasure of riding with Captain Ann and Sarah on a beautiful boat while watching the sunset off the water, and I must say, it was like stepping into a dream that I never wanted to wake up from. The golden hues painting the sky, blending seamlessly into the deep blue of the ocean, created a stunning backdrop that was both mesmerizing and serene. As we glided along the surface of the water, the gentle breeze carried away all the worries of my day, transforming my previously tangled thoughts into a sense of peace and joy. I'll be booking again very soon, within the next month, and of course I'll be choosing Captain Ann as my Captain once again, she's lit.
